Our verdict on Restream

Updated October 5, 2026

Restream does the main job well: one stream goes out to YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, and the rest, and every platform's comments land in one window. Reviewers on every platform call it easy to set up, and support agents often get thanked by name. Most complaints are about billing and price. The free plan carries Restream branding, 1080p in Studio starts at $49 a month, and a steady run of unprompted Trustpilot reviews describe being charged after cancelling or refused a refund.

Best for

Creators, churches, and small teams who stream to three or more platforms each week and want guests and comments without extra software

This is the one that just works. Its good product from a strong team.

This is the one that just works and that's why I bought it. Glad I did. Pros from a human streamer: - ease of use is major, especially for guests. - pre-recorded streams when used tactically are a powerful tool, they make it easiest - the stream relay makes it so that I can get to 5 channels (at my tier) while only broadcasting out 2 streams (vertical, horizontal) - for someone like me, maybe you, with non-fiber internet, this is a"can't live without" feature - integration into OBS is seemless, preferred for me - web portal is actually good, best for guests, old people can use them and make them work easily (easier than zoom) - team is actually really responsive and cares. I trust them Cons: - web portal is limited currently in layout- this is a con for me, if you're in tech or biz this is likely a blessing (has been when I've used in tech world applications) - price jump is steep if you need a single feature at single creator level between lower and higher tiers - I wanna pay more money, meet me in the middle pls! - Im searching for more. I honestly like the product a lot.

Restream: Solid, Complete, Stable Multistreaming with Intuitive Interface

Well, I stream every single of the year - except sometimes for new year's eve and Christmas and it has never failed. What else could I expect? It's an integral part of my job and part of my living. Whenever I support they are avaialble. Pros: Restream is the most complete platform out there for both multi-streaming and live shows in general. The integration with several platforms makes it perfect for syndicating for different destinations while the modular pricing system makes it fair. The stability and absence of issues or glitches during the shows is notable! The only thing that has ever happened to me was the initial screen once didn't come back to its orignal state, but it was resolved wuickly by support and since I was not live it was no issue at all - probably my mistake. Interface is pretty intuitive so no comments are necessary here. Clippings made by AI could be more a little more comprehensive but it is ok, I guess. I'm not heavy user of clippings. Cons: There is nothing really to dislike. Probably the only feature that they could improve would be the Studio. But dislike is a too strong word. I prefer to say that they could lead the market instead of being at same level with its competitors. There are a few features that could be implement such as green room, polls and giveaway tool.

Powerful Multistreaming Made Effortless

Restream makes connecting with different platforms easy, allowing me to stream on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube simultaneously. The multistream, layout, and high-quality video options save me time, simplify my work, and help extend my foundation's reach efficiently. Pros: I love that Restream makes connecting easy with different platforms, allowing me to stream to Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube simultaneously, and I look forward to doing it with TikTok too. The multistream feature is fantastic, as is the layout—it’s really easy. The quality of the video is superb, with options for high resolution. I appreciate the ability to make small clips from long videos, which really helps me save time. Having everything on a web platform is a huge plus because it doesn't use my computer's power or capacity since it’s in the cloud. It simplifies things for my team, as I don’t have a lot of help, and it makes my tasks and back-office work run very smoothly. The platform is very easy to set up, more straightforward than others I've tried. Cons: I find the connection with Instagram a hassle because you have to get a key and set up the video first, which makes it cumbersome. Also, sometimes the clips get stuck, which has happened to me twice. I had to call the help desk support, although they were great and even gave me a bonus clip because of the issue.

Stephen is the greatest!

I encountered an issue with the channels not syncing correctly, so contacted support. The super nice, kind, respectful, professional, and patient support team member I spoke to, Stephen, handled things amazingly! Stayed on chat with me for hours diagnosing the problem and providing possible solutions then we eventually found the problem by them trying it on a new account. It was very quickly passed onto the engineering team and very quickly after that followed up on with Stephen to make sure everything was good. People like Stephen and the engineering team are the reason I plan to use Restream indefinitely!

Restream Revolutionized Our Multi-Platform Broadcasting

I use Restream to stream to all my social media pages easily, solving bandwidth issues while traveling in my motorhome. It lets me stream to multiple platforms and provides great fallback recordings if I have issues on my end. Pros: I use Restream to broadcast to all my social media pages, and it's very easy to use. Restream is perfect for this. It has solved bandwidth issues for me while traveling in a motorhome, as it allows me to stream to multiple platforms without losing signal quality. The recordings feature is a terrific fallback if any issues occur on my end. I also love the feature for making short clips; it's very exciting and makes a huge difference. Setting up Restream was very easy, and even when I had a question, customer support was amazing, answering quickly and clearly. Restream is one of the highest quality, solid, and fully functional systems I've ever used, and I rate it a very solid 10. Cons: Ha! Really? There is NOTHING to dislike!

This was the best experience that I…

This was the best experience that I have ever had using ReStream's customer service. When I tell you they had all the answers, so kind and would give helpful information without me asking and pulling teeth..... I am impressed because this is how all customer service should be, so if you have used Restream before, you need to! Judy, thank you for being you because you are a valuable asset to Restream! Restream knows business and has the tools and structure! It's simple, and they have the best 24/7 support, where you can talk to a live agent who is actually helpful!

Multi-streaming made easy and reliable

As a producer and streamer Restream is one of my best companion apps to par with my streaming/switcher apps. It is super reliable, easy to use and what I really like is that you can turn on and off channels even when you are already live. I never had a problem with Restream and this is a tool that allows me to offer with confidence the multi-streaming services. Pros: What I love about Restream is the easy of use and the reliability that you have when you are doing multi-streaming. Cons: What I don’t like about Restream is the price, since there’s a lot of platforms that offer the multi-streaming option but again the benefits are worth it.

Intuitive Live Streaming Platform

Overall I really like Restream and their customer support when talking to the right people is very good. They could do with being more on the ball with what their competitors offer as I think they were ahead of the game initially but are missing features that others are now offering which makes them not the leader like they think they are. This comes across a little in their customer support at times. Pros: 1. The Livestudio system they offer is a very simple yet feature rich system to be able to do live and recorded videos. It also allows you to stream prerecorded videos as part of a live stream. 2. The Scheduling system to stream pre-recorded videos is great to ensure mitigate any risks in your own internet going down during important video streams. Cons: 1. The quality of the livestream video is very dependent on your own bandwidth so even if using it for making a recorded video, the quality is not as good as it could be, so it can't be used to make quality offline videos, which it should be able to. I dont like that the local videos you upload to stream live actually still come from your own machine and not from their server even though it has been uploaded, this means that you are still limited by your own bandwidth. Competitors get round this by allowing any uploaded videos more than a few hours old to stream from their servers. 2. They have a limited time of 10 minutes before you can schedule a video which is not competitive as competitors such as Castr offer a 1 minute scheduling. This is important for when you need to schedule an emergency video

The best Multistream Service

I'm happy with Restream, with my 2 years using stream, I only experience one issue with them. The issue was, I have a good internet connection, but it seems my ISP connection and Restream having an issue. Support was able to help me by giving me access to the beta feature of Stream Applifier which helps resolve the issue. So all in all, I have a great experience with Restream, I just wish they be more flexible in providing add-on features for a non-profit that need failsafe stream backup without subscribing to their $299/mo package. Pros: Restream is a feature pack multistream service out there. It is also the easiest UI/UX to understand. Even if it's your first time accessing Restream, you'll immediately be able to set up your account. What I love the most is the unified chat integration and the bot that comes with it. You can live stream on YouTube and Facebook and see all the chat's in one place. The bot helps sends out a series of chats at a predetermined time. For example, you can setup that when you type !Subs, the bot will chat, "Don't forget to subscribe" and have it send every 30mins. Stream recording is a bonus as well, it lets me download past live stream episodes for archiving purposes. Cons: What I don't like about Restream is, even if you paid $19/mo they will put a "Powered by Restream.io" on your live stream description/caption. Streaming for 3 concurrent channels will also force you to upgrade at $49/month which is a bit expensive.

The Only Way To Stream

I do Live Shows and Chats with my audience and get thousands more viewers on multiple platforms than if I used just Youtube Live or Twitch or even FB Live. Its an event when I go live with Restream, something that people look forward to. In the age of IGTV (which I hope gets integrated at some stage) and IG Stories, people are going live all the time and its not the event it used to be. Being able to contact the streamer, comment and the facility I have employed which puts the fans comments on screen as part of the conversation across multiple platforms is the only way to live stream; and its really easy. I recommend it to everyone. :) Pros: This software is easy to use and Ive been using it for a while. There are constant improvements and updates and the features make setting up a solid, full featured stream really easy. I stream on 4 platform at once and have loads of viewers comment live. Using the amazing integrated chat stream I can monitor and reply to commenters from all four platforms, live! It also has Discord chat integration so this work perfectly well for my Patreon subscribers on Discord. Overall, Restream has been my goto streaming service and is essential is you want to maximise the reach of your creation! I live stream my podcasts and live chats as well as streaming games and other media to my fans. I couldn't do it without Restream. Seamless integration, really easy RTMP and OBS integration and social media announcement post setup (no fiddling around retyping stuff) Cheapest and best streaming platform imho :) Cons: In the beginning (maybe 2016?) there was a problem with the bitrate for streaming to Periscope and you had to pay extra for Facebook, which had an overly complicated Live Event setup that rarely worked without issue; and I thought that was all a bit of a jip! But with my big boy pants on and figuring out and experimenting with my streaming settings; I now have a seamless and easily initiated stream, all video works properly and the Facebook setup is now super easy and integrated and well worth the extra few bucks!

Best service for streaming to multiple platforms at once!

All good, never had any problems thus far (waiting on a refund for a mistaken taken payment today, should be fine) whether it being service, information or payment stuff. Pros: -Easy to use. -Good and reliable infrastructure. -Affordable for the most part. -Chat bot that allows people on different platforms to communicate as if on the one. Cons: -Some of the options / services are a bit too pricey such as the trans-coding option, more affordable options could be offered there since generally you're talking about only Twitch which has issues on slow connections with 1080p as oppose to most other mainstream options. -Changing payment method for some service options require you to cancel the main account first which is odd.

Re-diculous not to Re-stream

So far so GREAT! Being able to hit to audiences at once has helped us push milestones for viewers and watch time on both platforms.. and for our followers who prefer one side or the other it is nice we give them the choice of where to watch. Pros: I love that I can capture 2 audiences with one stream. I love that I am obtaining watch time and new followers on different platforms. Cons: I am only using the FREE version so I am limited to how many platforms at once I can stream. Having more platforms avail, without doubling would be a great addition to the free. (So having YT, Twitch AND Facebook, Mixer, etc avail as well would be swell!)

Multistreaming

What Restream actually does differently

Multistream to 30+ channels from any encoder

Point OBS, vMix, or Zoom at Restream once and it relays the feed to YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and custom RTMP or SRT destinations, without extra upload bandwidth on your side.

Unified chat across every platform

Comments from every connected channel land in one window, where you can reply and show them on screen.

Upload & Stream for pre-recorded live

Upload a video, schedule it, and it airs as a live stream on every channel. Playlists and looping cover 24/7 channels.

Restream Studio in the browser

Bring up to 10 people on screen from an invite link, with your logo, overlays, backgrounds, and on-screen comments. Guests join from their browser.

Who Restream is for

Solo creators and gamers growing on several platforms

Going live on YouTube, Twitch, and Kick one at a time splits the audience and the chat.

Send one stream from OBS or the browser to every channel. The Free plan covers 2 channels; Standard ($19/mo) covers 3 and removes Restream branding.

Podcasters and interview hosts with remote guests

They need guests on screen, branded, without making anyone install software.

Restream Studio runs in the browser: guests join from a link, with your logo, overlays, and backgrounds. Professional ($49/mo) adds 1080p streaming and 4K recording.

Churches and worship teams

Services need to reach the congregation on Facebook, YouTube, and the church website every week, often run by volunteers.

Multistream each service and embed it on your own site with the website player, which comes with Business ($239/mo).

SaaS and marketing teams running launches and webinars

Product launches and demos have to look polished and reach LinkedIn, X, and YouTube at once.

Pre-record with Upload & Stream and schedule it to air live, or run it in Studio. Business adds team seats, co-producers, and workspaces; the Webinars add-on starts at $99/mo.

Restream FAQ

Is Restream worth it?+

For people who stream to three or more platforms every week, most reviewers say yes: it saves the setup work and puts every chat in one place. Those who stream to one platform, or who mind paying for something OBS plugins can do, are the ones who call it overpriced.

Is Restream free?+

Yes. The Free plan costs $0 and streams to 2 channels at once, with Restream branding on the stream. Paid plans start at $19 a month for 3 channels without branding, and annual billing takes 20% off.

Is Restream safe and legit?+

Yes. Restream, Inc. is based in Austin, Texas, was founded in 2015, and raised a $50 million Series A in 2020 led by Sapphire Ventures and Insight Partners. It holds 4.6 on Trustpilot (504 reviews) and Capterra (405), 4.5 on G2 (83), and lists SOC 2 and GDPR compliance. It has no BBB profile. The billing complaints are real, so cancel before your renewal date and keep the confirmation.

What are the biggest complaints about Restream?+

Billing comes first: charges after cancelling, annual plans that renew without a reminder, and refunds refused. After that come streams that drop or lag on some platforms, support that blames the user's setup, and the price of upgrading to get 1080p and more channels.

Can I stream pre-recorded video with Restream?+

Yes. Upload & Stream lets you upload a video and schedule it to air as a live stream on every connected channel, with playlists and looping for longer runs. It is priced separately from the multistreaming plans.
